Family First Community Services, LLC (FFCS) was established in December 2006 to serve children/families in the community. The driving force behind the development of FFCS was a vision to create a model community based program that would serve clients with mental health/substance abuse challenges in North Carolina. Since then, the company has expanded to provide variety of services to child/adolescent/adults with Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and/or Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities in Mecklenburg County and other catchment areas.
FFCS, LLC is accredited by CARF International and ceritifed as Critical Access Behavioral Health Agency (CABHA) for child/adolescent substance abuse continnum.
About the Owners and Directors:
Viva Jordan received a Master’s Degree in Sociology from University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Johnson C. University. Ms. Jordan has worked for Mecklenburg County Area Mental Health in various capacities and private organizations as a Manager/Director to Implement and Monitor Child/Adolescent Programs for over 20 years. She currently serves as a Director of Programs at FFCS and provides administrative supervision to all clinical programs.
Michiko Dowdy obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Mrs. Dowdy has worked with individuals with Mental Illness and/or Developmental Disabilities for over 20 years in various capacities including as a Case Manager, Client Representative, Program Manager, and Executive Director in public and private sectors. She currently serves as a Quality Management/Training (QMT) Director and Business Operation Manager at FFCS.
Dr. Praful Mehta is the FFCS Medical Director who provides Medical Supervision to all clinical/medical staff and Medication Management Services to our clients. He has experience working with children/adolescents/adults with Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and/or Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities.
John Waller, MA, NCC,LPC, CEAP, LEAP is the FFCS Clinical Director. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC in 1995. He then worked as a Psychiatric Technician with children/adolescents at CMC Randolph. He also worked as a Case Coordinator with Mecklenburg County for the following populations: Thomas S., CAP-MR/DD and Child/Adolescent. He studied Community Counseling at UNC Charlotte and earned his Master of Arts from this institution in 2002. Mr. Waller became a Nationally Certified Counselor in 2002. He became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2005. He received his Certified Employee Assistance Professional and Licensed Employee Assistance Professional certifications in 2008. John is able to use his background to serve the children/families and staff at FFCS with the best treatment options available.
